Doctor Who Experience

It has been an awful long time since I wrote something on here… and I am blaming life and lack of inspiration on this. I have been finding it extremely difficult to find time to focus and write something interesting. More so, because in my free time I try to relax a bit, edit a few photos from my holidays in June and July or watch TV Series.

So, I thought, I should review one of the places I have been to while in Cardiff. Let’s start with the Doctor Who Experience… because, why the hell not? 🙂

We made our way to the Doctor Who Experience on the first day of the holiday. Actually, it was oudw1r first activity after we checked into our hotel. We were staying in Cardiff Bay, so you would think that it was straightforward to locate the BBC venue. Truth be told, we were slightly distracted with the amazing views of the bay and the surrounding, and it took us longer than expected to get there.

But once we did, I had a huge grin on my face. I couldn’t believe I have finally made it… It has been five years since I made up my mind that I should visit this place! We had already purchased our tickets online, so we simply waited for our time-slot and off we went in. The first half of the experience was very interactive and fun. It was the best part of it, in my opinion, however we were not allowed to take photos or videos as not to spoil this for other visitors. Granted, it made sense… but I wish I have captured that moment when I walked in the Weeping Angel’s cemetery or when I flew the Tardis.

Some photos taken outside and around the museum:

I would definitely return here eventually and would recommend it to all Whovians out there! 🙂

Of Music Talents & Dreams

Today I came across the coolest of videos. In fact, this was shared with me by a colleague since I am into rock / metal music. He thought, it was something I would appreciate.

Boy, was he right.

The video features a group called ‘Rockin1000’, which is made up of 1,000 rockers and metalheads; 1,000 musicians to be exact. The music video was aimed to 5 specific people: Chris, Nate, Pat, Taylor and Dave.
If you have not guessed already, these 5 people make up the band Foo Fighters. Yes you heard me!!

You are warned… this will bring you to tears…

Watch the video here:

Needless to say, this has been viewed more than 5 times…. In fact on day 4, they are already at 12,000,000 views!! Wow.

Lo and behold, Dave Grohl replied to their video (only 1 day later!)… and not only this, but he spoke in Italian (English captions available) because this is the nationality of Rockin1000! Isn’t he nice, or what?

This inspires me…
1) It is good to dream………
2) Dreams can come true……………
3) Work hard, you can achieve it!

You

Your glistening eyes
Gazing attentively;
Cheeky smile

Pondering.

Your dreamy face;
My head spinning
Heart racing

Pumping.

Your smell
Draws me into you
Wanting you

Eager.

Your touch
Body trembles
Awaiting – for more.

Germans have good sense of humour; Part 1

If you think, that the Germans have terrible sense of humour, let me start helping you think otherwise.

Meet this metal-core band by the name of: We butter the bread with butter.

Who would in their right mind name a band like this?
Especially a metal band;
Who would take it seriously? The name is so far from hardcore… But this is what made me look into this band. Funny stuff… And lets just say, that it works… marketing wise!

The songs are awesome, I especially love the song Exorzist.

P.S. I am not German, and I was not commissioned to promote their sense of humour either 😉

The Loudest Silent Conversation

There’s this video going around at the moment on social media, and it made me think. Does true love ever dies? If, we part ways with the best love we have ever had, what happens then?

This is the story of two artists; Marina and Ulay who broke up in the 1970s. As a tribute to their relationship back then, they went to the opposite side of the Wall of China, and walked towards each other for one last hug… one last embrace. After 30 years of being apart, Ulay makes his way into Marina’s life during one of her art performances. Watch what happens then….

…It makes you think, don’t you think?

Best European Country to purchase Tech Stuff

Being the techiest (and probably, geekiest) person in my group of friends, I am the go-to person when it comes to technology questions and suggestions. Although I no longer informed about all the latest IT discoveries, I am very keen on it, and I seem to have the right answers to most of their dilemmas.

I do love this, and I enjoy the fact that I can help my good friends. But, I always fear that I might get blamed if I don’t give them the best solution.

One of the questions I get to answer, is ‘Should I buy gadget X from Malta?‘ If this gadget is something which was released in the last 6 months (or year), the question is likely to be no. Due to importation expenses, and the fact that Maltese businesses seem to always want to make a lot of profit, the prices are usually high.

Lets take an example. This week, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S6.

Price on the Samsung Importers website in Malta:

Price on German Amazon:

If you are a bit more patient, you can even get it cheaper from eBay. In fact, I purchased mine for 500 euro. That’s over 200 euro cheaper than what I would have bought it for locally!

This is one example, but I can confirm a huge reduction in prices for both GoPro as well as my new Samsung Tablet. Lets say, that thanks to the German technology market, I have around 350 euro still in my pocket from just 3 products.

Review of Manic Panic Nail Varnish

Today, I will review 3 nail varnish products made by Manic Panic. The names are:

  • Manic Panic Claw Colour Electric Lava
  • Manic Panic Claw Colour Electric Banana
  • Manic Panic Hardcore Nail Polish Top Coat

The top two colours, are not usually colours I would wear, but they were on sale and I thought it would be fun to try something new, and so bright in colour. Since I mostly wear black clothes, this would add some contrast.

20150522_201624Although I have bought these a while ago, I have not used them too frequently. The colours are shockingly bright and so I allow a couple of weeks before I use them again. The top coat however, I’ve used multiple of times as it’s good. You can tell that I’ve used it more often as it print on the nail varnish is wearing off.

I think that the colours are gorgeous, it covers the nail easily as it is not watery, but actually creamy. I prefer to put two layers when I use these, especially the yellow nail polish, but if you want a more subtle shade, stick with one layer.

I would recommend getting these colours, and if I had to buy them again I would.

A day in Utrecht

I would say that out of the many towns I have visited in the Netherlands, my very favourite is Utrecht. Imagine, somewhere as pretty as Amsterdam, with half the tourists around. I am not a big fan of crowds and this was perfect for me. The streets by the canal are still full of coffee shops, tourist shops as well as restaurants. Yet it is less busy, and loud. Perfect.

Here’s some photos I took, just to give you an idea.

The photos does not do it any justice.

I would suggest that you do not miss the opportunity to visit this town while in Holland. Besides, it is just 1.5 hours away from Amsterdam by train.

Where have the eligible bachelors gone?

I am quite a sociable person, and I get introduced to a considerable amount of people of the male gender; some face to face, others over the internet. I must say that the amount of interesting guys is decreasing time and again. I guess this issue is not just with the guys, but also with the gals.

As a person, even though I need to find the guy attractive physically, I think that what is the most important for me is intelligence. Yes I am a Sapiosexual. I love a guy who can talk on various subjects, who can hold a conversation; someone who I can learn a thing or two from. This on top of a guy being fun and funny, and who can make me laugh about the silliest of things, yet he can be mature when the situation requires it. I hate it when I have to mother a guy… I’m looking for a partner in crime. A guy who can live in the moment but can think about the future.
(Then comes the obvious ‘honest, loyal, truthful..’ characteristics, but that’s a given)

know what I want.
Thing is, how many guys out there know what they want?
And out of those, how many would meet my basic requirements?
I wonder… Am I asking for too much?

It’s not like I am asking for a top model millionaire who owns Bran Castle, a beach house and a cabin by the lake in the middle of nowhere.

Boy Meets World / Girl Meets World: Have you watched them?

For those of you who have grew up watching Boy Meets World, or who like me watched it recently, I would love to suggest that you consider watching Girl Meets World. And I will tell you why.

Cory and Topanga are the parents of this girl that the series is about. It’s freaking fantastic to have them both on TV again. I loved them then, and I still adore them now. To me, they are one of my favourite couples, and it’s saying a lot, since I watch way too many series ;p

Boy-Meets-World-then-and-now

What is so great about Girl Meets World is that all the main characters from Boy Meets World guest appear in the new show… which makes it really exciting, nostalgic and emotional. It’s so awesome to see them again. The fact that they still manage to kick ass in their old character, is what makes this show so worth my time. Shawn Hunter especially, what a great lad he has grown up into!

For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, have a look at Boy Meets World trailer (1990s), and afterwards Girl Meets World trailer (2014) below. You can see the same familiar faces in both shows; only more grown up of course!
