Words

Unravel hidden memories…
Disentangle your frustration.
Write down your hopes
as an unencumbered song.

Weave the thoughts
Make them flow nicely
notions will fall into place,
by your magical wand.

The sweetest of words,
the harshest of tones
is what makes us unique,
what makes us all Gods.

Share the love on Valentine’s day

I am not big on commercialised feasts, and I do think that you should show your love to the special people in your life all year round. But I received this video by email this morning, and it was certainly beautiful. And it is not about people, it’s about the nature surrounding us and all the changes that are happening to it… Something we are often forgetful about.

This, is all done through Shakespeare’s Sonnet number 18 to life; in a beautiful 100-second film that’s a celebration of the world around us. Listen to the cast of familiar British faces: David Harewood, Meera Syal, Stephen Fry, Dermot O’Leary, Jarvis Cocker, Deborah Meaden, Emilia Fox, Alison Steadman and Raymond Blanc, and let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Undress Me

Undress me from reality.
Untie me from the boundaries;
the expectations of society.
Unwind me from the pain,
the memories of a broken past.

Mend me with your lips
Hold me close;
until I can feel the beating
of your heart…
Pulsing faster, as your teeth
sink into my neck.

What it takes

A speedboat.
A bazuka.
Two Somalis.

A yacht.
A holiday.
Two Brits.

Money.
Luxury.
Kidnapping.

That’s all it takes
For two Somalis
To capture our people.

And yet,
We take them in.
We give them comfort.
Food. Water. Beds.
And money to live with.

//Inspired after reading a story about a British couple who were currently kidnapped by Somali.

If

If I had to let you go
I’d be hollow
like a tree;
destroyed –
by a chainsaw
eroded
by wind and rain.

If I had to let you go
I’d be incomplete
Life needs water,
and I need you.

If I had to let you go
I’d be alone
Not only physically,
but my heart would bleed
for you and your everlasting
love.

Ode to War

Tear Gas.
Fighting.
Explosions.
Tortures.

The symptoms of war,
Our soldiers endure.

Orders –
Followed;
Enemies –
Destroyed;

Like sheep they behave
They kill and never let live.

Wounds –
Physical;
Psychological;
Trauma

The guilt they burden,
The nightmares they pass through.

Reason?
Peace.
Unity.
Patriotism.

The lie we are led to believe.
Affecting us. Our life, perspective.

How fitting it is
To die for ones country?
When if you survive,
You’ll regret it for all your life.

Knowing that you were just
an insignificant number;
And you will be forgotten
there after.

Break-Free

If you could only see
That we are meant to be,
That what we have is real;
How you make me feel. Continue reading Break-Free
