One of my favourite views when in Valletta, is the below view of the Grand Harbour and the three cities. The area is full of history as is the whole of Malta’s capital city…

Sunday’s Valley Walk
It has become a tradition more or less, than on Sundays after lunch, weather permitting, I go for a walk in the country side. During this time of the year, nature is at its best. The grass and the trees are at their greenest.
Today, the weather has been rainy at times, but sunny at others. We left for the walk while it was sunny, but an hour later, when we made it home, it started pouring. I guess I could say we were quite lucky.
Some photos from the walk:
This valley is located in between Qormi, Zebbug and Siggiewi. There are a number of entrances to this paradise.
Of skulls and Bows
The 5th of June, 2014 was a big day for me. It was a warm late afternoon, and at around 5pm I was waiting at the tattoo studio to design my first two tattoos. Yes, you heard me, two tattoos. Some people think I’m crazy that I started off with two tattoos. But I’ve been wanting tattoos for years, and never had enough courage. I just knew what I wanted, I built up the courage I needed and wanted to show them off all summer ;p
Joking apart, the tattooist from Skink Tattoo Studio in Mosta, was very patient with me.. He answered all the questions I had before I placed the booking and even during our session. He was very gentle with me since I never had any tattoos done. He made sure that he had some music I love while he was working on me, and we had a few interesting conversations along the way. I think that helped me to relax and enjoy the ride. My friend Le Pav, was my sidekick for the day to help me be strong and not succumb to my fear.

I did two identical tattoos on my lower calves. I love skulls, and always will. But I thought I should personify them to make them a bit more classy. So I gave them a bow. Not the regular bow on the upper part of the skull; The bow is in the background, as if the skull was placed right on top. If you look at the skulls well enough, you should realise that the eye sockets are in the shape of a heart. This was done on purpose, as per my request. This is me giving my tattoos a meaning. I might have not found true love just yet, but I do believe there’s a person for every person. To me, it symbolises the fact that in such a world, it’s hard to find love, and when you find it, you should embrace it and work hard on it… ‘until death do us apart’.
Understood?
I hope so!
PS. It was very much worth the pain.
Meet My Kitties

A few months after I bought my house back in 2013, I realised that life without pets made no sense for me. I love cuddles, and I thought I needed some. So that was when I started looking for Mia.
After a long and extensive search to find a UK breeder who would send one of their Bengals over to Malta, I met Stella. Over Christmas time, we were arranging for Mia’s trip over to Malta, and it was on the 15th of January, 2014 that she arrived here.
Mia was shy at first, but she was running around the house after 15 minutes; chasing me and all sorts of toys I got before her arrival. Needless to say, she has a good life here.
And it became even better, when in August, Micki… my Savannah boy joined us. Mia’s companion.
We had a rocky start until they grew fond of each other. Nowadays they sleep together, they clean each other, they run after one another. They are fun to be around, and they are quite loud, excruciating at times! But I wouldn’t have them any other way!

At the beach in Winter
Yesterday late afternoon I was in St. Julian’s area. It was not cold, just a mild breeze, so I decided to have a walk near the beach. I sat down and watched the sunset.
I love beaches in Winter.
The beach is in its entirety empty; All yours.
Peaceful.
Clean.
It was just me and the sun.
Then, just me and the moon.
Good times.
//This beach is know as St. George’s Bay, or Paceville Bay by some. This beach in summer is overcrowded, mostly by tourists… specifically students who come to learn English in Malta as well as young groups of friends and couples.

Borrinu… aka Snowman
This post is a fun one, and is inspired by one of Malta’s top new words… Borrinu. This was invented this year after some people managed to make snowmen made of hail. Anyhow, the translation to this word is a snowman. I guess a snow-woman would be a Borrina.
Today we will have a look at the translation of Snowman in various languages:
Arabic: رجل الثلج- Czech: Sněhulák
- Danish: Snemand
- Dutch: Sneeuwpop
- English: Snowman
- Estonian: Lumememm
- French: Bonhomme de neige
- German: Schneemann
- Latin: Pupulus nivalis
- Maltese: Borrinu
- Norwegian: Snømann — Very Englishy!
- Polish: Bałwan śniegowy
- Russian: Снеговик
- Spanish: Muñeco de nieve
- Turkish: Kardanadam
Happy learning! 🙂

Maltese Christmas Log
The below is one of my favourite dessert recipes which are quite traditional in Malta during Christmas times. However, I have made this randomly during the year too; Because I am cool like that.

Rants of Precipitation
I love my little island, but sometimes the ignorance hits such a high limit, that I am unable to stay quiet about it.
Granted that some of us have never really seen snow in real life unless it’s on movie. Continue reading Rants of Precipitation
