Gossip Girl’s Chuck Bass

Ed Westwick, famously know as Chuck Bass; sexiest guy on Gossip Girl, will be the main actor, even better… a serial killer for  a new filler series on ABC. Not only was I stunned to see him as the main actor, but he’s going to have a totally different role than what is known for… Surely still a womaniser, but lets just say… there will be a twist to it. No pun intended… Ha!

I am also hoping that this English actor will for one stop americanising his accent… and let me admire his talent… ;p

Here’s Ed Westwick being Chuck Bass:

Here’s an interview with Ed – listen to his accent… what made him not take advantage of it during Gossip Girl?

Here’s a trailer of his new series… Wicked City

What women want

Thoughts on Genders

Some people wonder, why I enjoy spending time more with the male gender rather than with the female gender. Today, I will try to explain this, and please note that whatever I write here, it is not always the case for men and women.

Most of the girls I meet, are very dramatic, and girly. I do not find anything in common with them and their idea of a perfect way of spending the day… Shopping and trying out clothes and then, buying nothing… because their tummy is too fat, or their boobs are saggy. Whenever I go shopping (which is rare, since I mostly shop online), I know what I want, I find it, try it, purchase it; end of story. Women are never straight to the point, and most often then not cannot decide on anything. I find this stressful, and annoying. Especially when all the complains are on things which don’t matter, like ‘I just straightened my hair but now it’s raining, and it’s gonna be a mess’… blah blah blah. Why do I have to hear about this? I am not Jesus, and I can’t make the rain stop. Just deal with it.

Men, are the other way round – straight to the point and the good ones are truthful and loyal; though rare. You always know where you are with them, there’s not many mind games going on. Unless, they fall for you. Because then, most turn into a woman, instead of manning up and tell you what they’re feeling (or make them stop, if they dislike it).

For instance, if I look bad in a dress, it’s more likely that a guy would come to me and say it, rather than a woman. Because, that’s how they are made. Women would try and compliment you on the good parts of it, rather than letting you know it doesn’t suit you (or talk about you with their friends). Men would behave like women in this case, when they want to get laid, or they like you too much.

Child Marriage

Child-BrideAs of late I have been taking a particular interest in researching the subject of child marriage. The fact that it is happening in all parts of the world, and we barely hear about it when it comes to news on TV, radio and the internet really gets to me. So, I thought I would gather some information about this topic and share it with my followers as to raise awareness.

Every year on average, around 5 million girls, aged 15 or younger are forced into marriage by their poor, too large family. Countries vary but include South Asia, Africa and Middle East. Girls are circumcised before they get married. If they run away or object, they are beaten to marry older men, instead of being listened and understood. These girl do not know anything about what will happen to them when they marry. No knowledge of what to do in bed or how to raise a child. This is an unacceptable, ignorant tradition, even if it is culturally accepted in these countries.

This is an abuse of human rights. These girls should be at school and protected, rather than forced to conduct roles of adults which ruins their innocence and whatever is left of their future… Not only this, but these child brides are in great risk of dying during childbirth because they’re of such a young and tender age.

Protecting these girls is not only morally correct, but would also have an impact on the economic development and growth of the country. Investing in protecting these women and giving them education would reduce child marriage and increase income, health and intelligence. Targeting the young men, which would be the future husbands of these girls would also help towards eradicating this vicious cycle and who knows? Maybe in a generations’ time all will be in the past.
